A passionate advocate for animal welfare and of the environment, Christopher's early childhood experiences living throughout Africa and the Middle East, shaped much of his perspectives and the lenses with which he views both. He has worked and volunteered with animal rescue groups and on environmental issues throughout his life and even managed to incorporate these into his occupations.

An avid diver with a love for the ocean, Christopher assisted dolphin and seal rescue operations and rehabilitation efforts at Sealand (Cape Cod) in conjunction with the Boston Aquarium during summer vacations as a young man. Now landlocked, he continues his involvement with animal welfare causes working with shelters and rescue groups, as well as in his professional work with the planning and design of sustainable communities.

In his local community, Christopher enjoys working with multiple organizations including, the Humane Society of Southern Arizona (HSSA), Pima Animal Care Center (PACC), No Kill Pima County (NKPC) and The Valley Fever Center for Excellence at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.
